Baltic Yachts
A yard with a passion for innovation
Baltic Yachts was founded in 1973 on a radical philosophy; to combine the latest thinking in yacht design with innovative new technologies to create boats that were Faster, Stronger and Lighter. Today this founding philosophy still forms the very essence of the company and is at the core of the Baltic 72 Grand Prix project. Thanks to an owner willing to take risks and push the limits of both innovation and design, the Baltic 72 Grand Prix is exactly the kind of challenge Baltic Yachts like to take on.
Over the years Baltic Yachts has built many successful racing boats including Advantage, which came 2nd in the prestigious SORC. In the eighties there were the maxi boats Martela and Midnight Sun, the latter being the first Maxi racer built using fiber technology and more recently Visione, Loftfari, OPS5 and Super Baltic 5 to name just a few.
Using its considerable racing knowledge Baltic Yachts builds racer/cruisers that compete successfully around the world. The latest boats from the yard to add to the list of successes are Baltic 65 Stig, the predecessor of Baltic 72 Grand Prix, and Baltic 112 Nilaya, which was the overall winner of the Maxi Rolex Cup in 2011.
Today Baltic Yachts is one of the leading boatyards using carbon composite. A highly regarded builder of exclusive high performance sailing boats Baltic Yachts creates tailor made dream yachts made to the exacting standards and specifications of their owners. The all-time benchmark so far is Hetairos, a 66m fully-fitted ketch with half the weight of a normal boat this size and performance almost second to none.
With a passion for innovation and a team of highly skilled craftsmen, Baltic Yachts is equally comfortable building pure racers as they are fully-fitted performance cruisers while remaining true to the founding philosophy – faster, stronger, lighter!
