Alessandro Rombelli

An experienced sailor with a strong will to develop the racing scene

The man behind this ambitious project is successful Italian businessman Alessandro Rombelli, board member in various Italian companies.

Born in 1965 in the port city of Genoa Mr. Rombelli is a passionate sailor who began racing in 2007 with a Vismara 50. In 2010 he won the Copa del Rey with a Baltic 65, Stig and came 2^nd in the Mini Maxi Rolex Cup. Last year Mr. Rombelli and his crew took 4^th place overall in real time at the Giraglia and repeated their 2^nd place in the Mini Maxi Rolex Cup.

Mr. Rombelli has also taken part in the Audi Sailing Series with Stig, Melges 20, since the circuit began in 2009 and he won the world championship in December 2011 in Miami.

With a wealth of experience and racing success already behind him Mr, Rombelli has all the right qualifications to develop and improve the sailing scene. He is now looking forward with great enthusiasm and anticipation to a future racing his brand new boat, the Baltic 72 Grand Prix.
